Mark and Bridgett Miller are not only two of the best realtors in the Elizabethtown and Fort Knox area but they are two of the greatest people you could ever wish to meet.  They went to extraordinary lengths to find us our home here in Elizabethtown.  And I'm sure they would do the same to help any of you prospective home owners find a home as well.  We searched for months on our own in Elizabethtown, Vine Grove, Radcliff and Ft. Knox areas to find a home that met our needs.  We needed a home that was in fairly close proximity to Elizabethtown because of my job but at the same time we were looking for homes in the surrounding areas of Fort Knox, Vine Grove, Radcliff, and even Bardstown.  They knew the Elizabethtown, Ft. Knox, Vine Grove Kentucky areas very well, which was great because we were new to the area.  They were more than happy to show us as many homes as we liked here in Elizabethtown and Ft. Knox. 

I suppose we were lucky when it came to our home search not only because we had very good realtors but we didn't have to look at that many homes before we found the perfect home for us.  During an initial phone conversation we had given them the price range for a home that we wanted to stay within as well as the basic requirements for the house that we needed, and arranged to go look at some houses that weekend.   The first day we went out to look at homes in the Elizabethtown and Fort Knox area was a Saturday,  we were literally gone all day and looked at homes for at least six or seven hours.  It was like our Elizabethtown - Ft. Knox home search had their full undivided attention.  We met them at the first home location, which was a new home construction here in Elizabethtown.  We were very impressed when they presented us with a binder that contained a detailed break down of each of the homes they had prepared for us to look at that day.  There was basic information on each home, like the year the home was build, number of bedrooms in the home, number of bathrooms in the home, and overall number of rooms in the homes.   In addition to the basic home information, they did a lot of research and provided us with more information on all of the homes that we liked.  They found all of the homes in the prospective Elizabethtown and Fort Knox neighborhoods that had sold within the past year and found the sale price of the home as well as the basic information on those homes and provided us with those homes information.  We looked for homes in the Elizabethtown and Ft. Knox area for around a month.  We saw older homes, Remodeled homes, new construction homes, as well as some fixer up homes. 

Once we had settled on a couple of homes that we really liked.  They pulled ALL available information on these homes.  Every time the home had been sold, the date the home was sold, the sale price of the home, the buyer and seller of the home.  They also did an estimated value of the home.  They took the previous sale price of the home, factored in the appreciated value of the home, as well as any improvements made to the home.  This gave us some numbers to think about and also let us know if the seller was high or low in their asking price.  We eventually settled on a nice home here in Elizabethtown.  We really like the Elizabethtown - Ft. Knox Kentucky area so in the end this was the best fit for us. 

Mark and Bridgett were able to help us in every aspect of buying this house.  They pointed us to a lender that was able to give us a better interest rate than the lender we had previously chosen.  They recommended an excellent home inspector who worked here in the Elizabethtown and Ft. Knox area that was able to find a few things that needed to be fixed before we moved forward with buying the home, as well as a few things that were not critical but that we should look into improving after we moved into the home.  After the home inspection, I noticed that there were some shingles on the roof of the home that just didn't look right.  Mark brought his own ladder over and we climbed up on the roof of the home to look at it.  It turned out that the shingles were just a different color than the others.  But its just that they would take time out of their day to bring their own ladder over to the home that we wanted to buy so I would feel a little bit better about the roof that was on the home meant a lot to both of us.  We were in constant communication with Mark and Bridgett all the way up to the closing and they were even the first to give us a housewarming present. 

Its been a few months since we've moved in now and we still talk to Mark and Bridgett every once in a while.  We've also done a few things to improve on our home.  We owe these improvements to Mark and Bridgett as well, because as my wife will be sure to point out I'm not the handiest person when it comes to fixing things around the house.  Mark and Bridgett were able to recommend a handy man that we have contacted several times to help us fix things around the house that require more than a hammer or a screwdriver.  They are also kind enough to help us when we need to find out something about the Elizabethtown - Ft. Knox area.  It turns out that Mark is retired army and has spent several years here in Fort Knox so they not only know a lot about the area but they also have a strong social network in the Fort Knox area.
